Occurrence
The external paintwork is not uniformly smooth but covered with small indentations, which gives the effect of "orange peel".
Causes

Spray gun held too far from the surface during spraying
- Spray pressure too low
- Topcoat too light
- Paint viscosity too high
- Thinner too fast
- Incorrect surface or spray temperature
- Blowing too strong when drying
Prevention

Use the correct materials in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended technology
- Prepare the substrate properly
- Use the correct gun (nozzles)
- Use the recommended thinner
- Avoid application at too high a temperature
Removal
If the defect is minor, sand the surface with P1200 paper and polishing paste. If the defect is significant, sand down the surface with P800 and recoat.
